Reach for the Stars!

I had little hope

My bipolar was out of control

I had few connections

And little to be happy about

Then I joined Lorikeet

They gave me the resources

I learned lots from self esteem/wellness sessions

My traits of patience and resilience were used

I used meditation, mindfulness and prayer

I set up a gratitude journal

I set up short/long term goals

I structured my week

Slowly I found myself and turned my life around

My connections of my wife, Lorikeet, family,

church and community involvement became my support

And I did poetry and writing to express my feelings

With hope and connections

I am now reaching for the stars
